The urge for me to create usually starts intuitively and develops naturally. I regard my personal experiences that are rooted in daily life as raw materials. I turn inward to comb through and reflect upon my lived experiences subjectively, as a way of self-care — a process of knowing from the inside. Following the spirit of DIY and playfulness, I perform physically low-tech, clumsy and repetitive actions as my futile resistance to locate an anchor point in the uncontrollable world. Extending from the personal, my practice embodies social and political issues that I have encountered with the help of performance, video, image, sound, text, and found objects.
